Mayor Mike Duggan is expected to announce the proposed sale of 142 acres at the former State Fairgrounds in Detroit during a news conference at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Detroit Public Safety Headquarters.

The sale could lead to the redevelopment of the property and potentially bring 1,200 new jobs to the site, according to a City of Detroit news release.

Councilman Roy McCalister, Executive Director of Workforce Development Nicole Sherard Freeman, national and local development partners and area residents are expected to join Duggan at the news conference.
