Chappall Gage is president of Susan Gage Caterers, the fifth largest catering company in Greater Washington with $20 million in 2019 revenue, according to Washington Business Journal research. Coronavirus has all but wiped out its work, so it’s gotten creative to stay afloat.

You typically cater some 3,500 events annually. What kind of a hit has your business taken in the age of coronavirus? Unfortunately, the hospitality industry has been one of the hardest hit. We are currently operating at about 4% normal revenue. We’ve been trying to pivot to keep as many people working as possible and our team has been phenomenal as we navigate these challenging times.
