Patriots vs. Raiders line, prediction: Take the home favorite

The Wildcat returns for his 24th season in The Post. Including the 1997-2019 seasons in the Bettor’s Guide, Cat’s record in print stands at 636-537 (54.2 percent) against the spread. (Home team in CAPS.)

NEW ENGLAND PATRIOTS (-5.5) over Las Vegas Raiders

Good for the Raiders for putting on a good show in their new digs vs. big-rep team like the Saints. ’Course, N’Awlins doesn’t appear to have rolled out a vintage edition, with Drew Brees having issues trying to gobble up yardage looking downfield. Silver and Black have posted a sordid history in this neighborhood. Pats bounce back from a tough Seahawks beat, for one unit.

ARIZONA CARDINALS (-5.5) over Detroit Lions

There’ll likely be a 0-2 NFL side or two that awakens on this card — but we’re not looking to isolate the Lions as one of ’em. The Washington Football Team was in a half-decent spot last week but got laid out by Kyler Murray’s revitalized Cards in a game which wasn’t as close as the final score indicated. Lions coach Matt Patricia is broadly regarded as the first likely to be canned. Cat’s prime fear is the backdoor — but Cards should maintain surge in the desert, for one unit.

Last week: 1-1. Jaguars (W). Washington (L).
2020 Season: 1-3.
