Long Island shooting suspect leads cops on wild, 45-mile car chase into Queens

A Long Island shooting suspect led police on a wild pursuit into Queens Sunday night, law enforcement sources said.

The man opened fire on his ex-wife in Holtsville, in Suffolk County, at around 9:30 p.m. before leading police on a roughly 45-mile chase that ended on Cross Island Parkway near the Whitestone Expressway, the sources said.

The man’s ex was left in critical condition and taken to a nearby hospital.

Investigators recovered a weapon at the shooting scene, sources said.

Photos from Queens show a shirtless man wearing a blood-drenched medical mask in the back of an FDNY ambulance.

It was not clear whether the man injured himself or if the blood had come from his ex-wife.
