Chesmar Homes has partnered with Land Tejas to build their seventh Greater Houston Builders Association (GHBA) Benefit home in Lago Mar. Land Tejas donated the homesite. This will be Land Tejas’ 18th lot donation.
Chesmar will be breaking ground in Lago Mar in the coming weeks. Their team of vendors and suppliers have already begun committing donations of materials and services to construct the home. These donations will ensure that when the house sells at market value, proceeds will go to two local charities, HomeAid Houston and Operation Finally Home. Since the fundraiser began 40 years ago, nearly 12 million dollars has been raised.
“Chesmar and the ‘Chesmarin’ team have shown their deep commitment to giving back to the community through various charitable organizations,” said Terry Swenson, public relations director of the GHBA and the Benefit Homes Project. “Chesmar’s Don Klein and Scott Merovitch have led the Benefit homes team to raise hundreds of thousands of dollars for local charities. GHBA is grateful and honored to have them as part of the team for 2020, especially during such a difficult year for all industries.”
The Hillcrest plan is a one-story design that features four bedrooms with a game room option, three baths and a two-car attached garage and a covered patio. An extended foyer leads to open casual dining, a family room, and an island kitchen with additional countertop dining. The study is convenient to the common area and the master suite.
“When you consider that Benefit homes are built even during difficult times such as today with COVID 19, that says something about the hearts of the individuals in our industry who make this project a success year after year,” said Swenson.
