Beyoncé kicks off Kobe Bryant’s memorial service in Los Angeles

Pop superstar Beyoncé opened Kobe Bryant’s memorial service in Los Angeles with an emotional rendition of her hit song “XO” — one of the hoops legend’s favorites.

“I’m here because I love Kobe, and this was one of his favorite songs,” the Grammy-winning songstress said to open the 20,000-strong memorial at LA’s Staples Center.

“XO” was also featured on the soundtrack of the 2015 documentary “Kobe Bryant’s Muse.”

Beyonce also sang her 2008 hit “Halo.”

Bryant played out his entire 20-year NBA career with the Lakers. The basketball legend was killed in a helicopter crash on Jan. 26 along with his 13-year-old daughter Gianna and seven other people.
