29-year-old man fatally shot on Upper West Side

A 29-year-old man was fatally shot on the Upper West Side early Thursday, cops said.

Nayquan Garden was blasted in the chest around 3:15 a.m. near the corner of West 105th Street and Columbus Avenue.

He was rushed to Mount Sinai Morningside hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

No arrests have been made, and it was not clear what led to the shooting.

The slaying comes amid a recent surge in gun violence citywide.

The total number of shootings reported Wednesday was not immediately available Thursday morning.
